There are two terminals, one in the free zone a private transhipment terminal established by Messrs Navios Corporation and the otherone at the official pier known as TGU (Terminales Graneleras del Uruguay S.A.) has been awarded by the government the running of the terminal facilities for 15 years, both terminals are working with uruguayan grain exports and mainly with transhipment of bulk cargoes ex barges from Brazil, Bolivia and Paraguay arriving from up-river ports are discharged, stored and then loaded as exports on ocean going vessels.
